CIVICA was established in 2014 so that citizens' voices are heard and respected by decision-makers, and institutions become more open and attentive to people's real needs. The strategic directions of action are ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP and GOOD GOVERNANCE.

The association's projects encourage civic involvement, supporting citizen groups facing various problems in the community and making the decision-making process transparent. CIVICA develops digital tools for monitoring and public participation, citizen involvement guides or best practices for public administration.

The association also implements advocacy campaigns on topics related to mobility and urban development, organizes workshops and civic education sessions, holds debates and events that bring together citizens and decision-makers for important community projects.
